Why keep anything at all?

Only a one-way hash of your email. Without it our sources would simply re-add you on the next build. It cannot be used to contact you or rebuild your record.

What about lists already sold?

We notify customers who received your record in the last 90 days; their contract requires them to delete it. We cannot guarantee what a third party does, which is why we act quickly.
